Today began with whirlwind tours of the Thermador, Bosch and Gaggenau booths. A few highlights:
Thermador’s Professional and Masterpiece wall ovens.

Besides a chronometer and stainless steel knobs, the Professional ovens offer a commercial-grade rotisserie. The Masterpiece line is a little cheaper and includes 20 pre-programmed convection settings. Both offer a speed convection mode and are available in a triple-oven combination featuring a Professional or Masterpiece oven, a microwave or convection microwave, and a warming drawer.
Bosch’s Integra refrigeration.

Following in the footsteps of its sister companies, Bosch brought out a modular refrigeration system that allows for 11 different configurations of refrigerator, freezer and wine cooler compartments in 18-, 24-, 30- and 36-inch widths. Like all of Bosch’s eligible appliances, they’re Energy Star qualified.
Gaggenau’s lift oven.

It’s a wall oven, but not a built-in - in fact, its advantage lies in the fact that the bottom literally drops out, allowing the cook to access the interior from three sides without bending over. This electric oven features 12 heating modes, including convection, condensation and speed cooking. At approx. $3,300 for 1.8 cubic feet of space, it’s a pricey piece, but it does hold five cookie trays at once. For an older single or couple who enjoy cooking and baking but don’t want to throw out their backs, it could be just the thing.
