The Wellborn Identity

Once again, the novelty of a whiteboard accessory caught our attention at IBS. This time it happened at the Wellborn booth, where they showcased their new wall-message-center cabinet (shown in Sage Mocha, one of Wellborn’s new finishes). As you can see in the attached photo, the whiteboard is placed inside the cabinet door, and the shelving has very little depth, which works for storing erasers, notepads, etc.

Now while we are all for advocating the inner beauty (and functionality) of cabinets, we don’t want to ignore their superficial side. So we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention Wellborn’s kitchen vignette with a warm and contemporary look. This style has been a trend for a while now, and the pictured vignette illustrates how to pull the look off. It features one Wellborn’s new door styles, Sydney, made from maple and seen in Sienna (dark) and Natural (light) finishes. The Sydney is not quite as minimal and modern as slab doors, but it does have the clean, straight lines necessary to achieve the warm and contemporary décor. But what really drives the contemporary style home is the stainless steel, used as a backsplash and door insert.

Finally, Wellborn introduced new crisscrossing shelves that can be used as a wine rack.

But the real surprise here is when they put these same shelves (shown in Honey Butter finish) in their powder room vignette. Alas, the shelving was used for displaying towels instead of wine. Perhaps that’s for the best; makeup application plus merlot could lead to disastrous results
