A six-foot long kitchen sink probably seems more superfluous than functional, unless you find yourself washing off and preparing marlin on a regular basis. Yet two of Elkay’s newest sinks, the six-foot long Ripple and Cascade don’t scream “too much sink!” rather, the first thing that grabs your attention is all their custom accessories. The accessories, which include a sliding bamboo cutting board and stainless steel colanders, are layered to create two interactive working surfaces. Even the non-marlin cooking set would be impressed.

To design the Pebble and Cascade, Elkay turned to Fu-Tung Cheng, an award-winning designer best known for his work with concrete. Elkay also called on the services of Manhattan-based designer Jamie Drake—whose clients include Madonna and New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg—to create two other new sinks called the Raindrop and Vase. At last year’s K/BIS Drake designed a “seven deadly sins” inspired kitchen for Sub-Zero and Wolf (these guys, not this guy and this guy). But his new designs for Elkay are much more whimsical than sinful, as the Raindrop is a trough-style sink lined with blue LED lights. While Fu-Tung Cheng’s sinks focus on functionality, Drake’s sinks have a little more artistic flair.

The Ripple, Cascade, Vase and Raindrop sinks were all on display at K/BIS and will be released this summer. Elkay also featured a new sink shaped like a martini glass, which is the perfect compliment to a champagne glass hot tub. Although the sink looks like it would be about a thousand times safer to actually use.
